Dear friends, here comes the third installment of our coverage regarding the Czech edition of “Choosing Death: The Improbable History of Death Metal & Grindcore” by Albert Mudrian, the editor-in-chief of the iconic American metal magazine Decibel. Today is all about the visual side of the book and about its content in more detail.

First and foremost, here is the cover of the Czech edition, adorned, same as in case of the English original, by the painting “Origin of Madness” by the legendary British death metal artist Dan Seagrave.

Second, as usual we have for you the list of chapters, which in case of “Choosing Death” amount to thirteen:

Punk is a Rotting Corpse / Whirlwind Struggle / Death by Metal / Across the Open Sea / Beyond the North Winds / Success? / Mass Appeal Madness / Corporation Pull-in / Fall from Grace / Back from the Dead / Altering the Future / The Sound of Perseverance / Exhume to Consume

Also included is a list of key musicians, publishers and producers, also the essential death and grind discography and loads of rare photos.

Předmluvou pak knihu opatřili jednak Scott Carlson, zpěvák a spoluzakladatel kultovních Repulsion, a jednak John Peel, legendární DJ britského BBC Radio 1, díky kterému se Napalm Death, Carcass, Extreme Noise Terror a mnoho dalších dostalo k širšímu publiku.

The book comes with two forewords. One by the Scott Carlson, the vocalist and co-founder of iconic Repulsion. The other by John Peel, the legendary DJ of BBC Radio 1, thanks to whom Napalm Death, Carcass, Extreme Noise Terror and many others reached a wider audience.

And that is it for today. Enjoy and more next time!
