Dear friends, while it may seem like we opted for an early start of a winter hibernation, our black kitchen is on the contrary very busy these days. For successively entering execution are several heavyweight titles, the Czech translation licenses of which we managed to acquire. Consider:

Our collection of band biographies will expand with the official stories on one hand of the Finnish icon Amorphis by Markus Laakso, who mapped the band history from their founding in the 1990 up till 2015, and on the other hand of the no less iconic Poles Vader by Jarek Szubrycht, specifically of the expanded edition that commemorated the band’s 40th anniversary.
Also coming up are the memoires of two legendary figures of the extreme metal scene. First, of Scott Burns (penned by our favorite author David E. Gehlke), the sound engineer and producer, who within the Florida-based Morrisound Studio helped spawn many of the seminal death metal albums by e.g. Death, Obituary, Terrorizer, Cannibal Corpse, Sepultura or Deicide. Second, of Shane Embury (an autobiography), the master of bass of the cult Napalm Death.
Finally, the genre focused literature shall also get a boost. This time, we shall revel in the doom metal netherworld vis-á-vis two volumes of the “Doom Metal Lexicanum” encyclopedia by Alexey Evdokimov (originally release by Dayal Patterson in his Cult Never Dies publishing). The first installment deals with the traditional, epic and stoner doom, while the second covers the death-doom part of the genre spectrum. Besides the vast array of band profiles, there are also interviews with e.g. Lee Dorian of Cathedral, Greg Mackintosh of Paradise Lost or with Aaron Stainthorpe when he still was the vocalist of My Dying Bride.
The bulk of the translations is expected next year, the rest in 2027. Closest to release is the aforementioned official biography of Amorphis, which we plan to publish in the first quarter of 2026.
Enjoy!
