Dear friends, welcome to the second installment of our coverage regarding the upcoming Czech edition of "Turned Inside Out: The Official Story of Obituary" by the American writer and music journalist David E. Gehlke. Today is all about the visual side of the book and about its content in more detail.
First, the frontcover. Made by Michael Wohlberg and showcasing a band photo by Tim Hubbard, who worked (besides Obituary) with such genre icons as Death, Deicide, Brutality, Malevolent Creation, Napalm Death, Six Feet Under or Sepultura.
Second, content. The book covers the period from the band’s founding to its tenth full-length album vis-á-vis the following 17 chapters:
Welcome to Tampa / Executioner / Xecutioner / Slowly We Rot / Like a Beast Howling: Inside John Tardy's Vocals / Cause of Death / The End Complete / Meathook Seed / World Demise / Back from the Dead / On Hiatus: 1998-2003 / Frozen in Time / Xecutioner's Return / Darkest Day / For the Love of Cats and Death Metal / Inked in Blood / Obituary
Finally, it is apt to note that one other death metal titan chimed in, namely Max Cavalera, who penned the foreword to "Turned Inside Out".
So, enjoy and more next time.
