Dear friends, last Sunday, the annual Břitva Awards found their latest recipients, and its is our pleasure to observe that our last year’s releases and activities did catch the attention of the voting hard’n’heavy journalists.

In particular, the latest opus “Trpte” of the Czech black metal triumvirate NĀV won the Black & Doom genre category, as well as scored sixth place in the overall Album of the Year category.

The genre category Thrash & Death saw the latest full-length “Messtery” of the Czech thrash-death metal outfit ANTIGOD taking the fifth place.

Next, Václav Votruba got silver in the Book of the Year category for the second volume of the “Dělníci kovu” series, this time with the biography of Vlakin, the iconic figure of Czech grindcore.

Also awarded was the last year’s installment of our/your Czech metal feast MetalGate Czech Death Fest, which got bronze in the Festival of the Year category. And finally, MetalGate as such ended sixth in the Company of the Year category.
